Quilting the Machair

from Hebridean Suite by Mike Cavanagh

/

about

The second guitar based piece in the suite. The Hebridean Machair: the calcareous (shell grit and sand) grasslands of the Scottish west coast that abound with wild flowers through the spring. Mainly found in the islands of the Inner and Outer Hebrides. Landscapes of wide sweeping beaches, and skies that go on forever. Godzone. The piece itself is more or less four movements.

Don't play nowhere these days, but paid some sort of dues over the years - restaurants, bars, even a few weddings. Motto - find beauty; be still (thanks Mr W.H. Murray) ... more
